Welcome to Polword - the School of Polish Language and Culture, where our journey began in the year 2000. With an unwavering passion for teaching the Polish language and its rich cultural heritage, Polword has flourished from humble beginnings in a small room on Regent Street to becoming a cornerstone of language education in London.

Located at the vibrant hub of Great Titchfield Street, near Oxford Circus, Polword has become a cherished home to over 10 000 individuals who have embraced the Polish language, thanks to our dedicated efforts.

At Polword Ltd., we take pride in being the sole accredited centre in the UK for Polish State Certificate Exams. Whether you aspire to work in Poland, obtain Polish citizenship, or simply indulge in the joy of learning, our school provides the ideal setting for achieving your goals. Moreover, as a registered training organisation with the Skills Funding Agency, we ensure quality education accessible to all.

Edyta, the founder of Polword, wears many hats. Not only is she a distinguished lecturer of Polish at the University of Cambridge, but she has also lent her expertise to esteemed institutions such as UCL SSEES, PON (Jagiellonian University Polish Research Centre in London), and the Polish Saturday School in London. She contributed to publications like “Po polsku na Wyspach: A Guide for Parents of Bilingual Children” and “Dwujęzyczni i dwukulturowi: Bilingual and Bicultural Speaking Polish in North America”.

Wondering how long our students stay with us? On average, our learners spend 2 to 4 years at Polword, guided by their objectives, motivation, and preferred learning pace. Yet, some, like Ryan, have been with us for over 8 years, a testament to the lasting impact of our nurturing environment.
